FAQ
What metadata does a PDF contain?
The info dictionary (title, author, subject, keywords, creator, producer, creation and modification dates) and often an XMP packet with more data, e.g. edit history or document IDs.
What is removed?
The whole info dictionary and the XMP metadata in the document catalog. Page content, bookmarks and forms stay untouched.
Why remove metadata?
Before publishing or sending a document to a third party – metadata can reveal the author's name, company, software used or creation date.
Is visible text removed too?
No. The tool only deletes hidden metadata, not page content (headers, signatures, watermarks).
