Compress PDF (reduce size)
Pick a PDF and shrink it – pages are converted to compressed images at the chosen quality. Works best for scans and documents with photos; text will no longer be selectable or searchable. Everything runs in your browser.

FAQ
How does the compression work?
Each page is rendered to an image at the chosen resolution and stored as JPEG. The resulting PDF keeps the page dimensions but is much smaller – typically 50–90 % for scans.
Does the text stay searchable?
No. Pages become images, so text cannot be selected or searched. For text-only PDFs compression may not pay off.
Which level should I choose?
“Balanced” is a good compromise for on-screen reading. “Strong” for size-limited e-mail attachments, “light” to keep small print legible.
Is the PDF uploaded?
No. Rendering (PDF.js) and assembling the new PDF (pdf-lib) both happen in your browser.
